Earlier this year, we partnered with XPRIZE and Range Media Partners to launch the Future Vision XPRIZE, a global competition calling for films that envision a hopeful, technology-enabled future. Last week in Los Angeles, independent filmmaker Jeff Synthesized was named the grand prize winner for The Gifted .
Inspired by a deeply personal story, the film centers on an 11-year-old boy who recreates his late mother’s voice and essence out of love and code. What emerges across the town’s networks quietly cares for his entire community — reflecting the filmmaker’s belief that technology’s greatest promise lies in empathy and human connection.
Chosen from more than 2,500 entries worldwide, the solo-developed project receives $100,000 alongside $2.5 million in feature production funding. Through Google’s 100 ZEROS initiative, we are partnering with Range Media Partners to help bring this story to the big screen.
